  SPRING & SUMMER TREE CAMP
WEST POINT ON THE ENO PARK
                       Durham, NC
               May 1 - August 31, 2010

Join Riverdave for an all day, adult nature exploration experience known as Tree Camp. After my winter 2009 tree camp session at Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, I am returning to West Point on the Eno Park in North Durham for the warm seasons.

Tree Camp will meet regularly each Saturday from 9AM till 2PM. If that day does not work for your schedule, I am available on the other days of the week by special request.  If you have been sending your own children or grand children off to nature camp, perhaps its time to consider sending yourself off to an adult nature camp!

Update for Spring/Summer 2010 at West Point on the Eno Park

For the sake of those of you who attended last year’s summer Tree Camp at West Point Park, this year we will venture into areas of the park on the south bank that were not covered last season, searching for new tree encounters.

Another change that I am making to our Tree Camp format is that after hearing some feedback that our six hour session was a bit too long for some, I am reducing the length of our session from six to five hours, from 10am till 3pm. Of course, I am willing to linger longer for those with extra energy.

I am also raising the price for Tree Camp from $25 to $30 per session, as some participants complained that i was not charging enough to make this look like a legitimate adult camp!  I doubt that my $5 per day increase will satisfy those who sought a significant rise in price, but perhaps they will find this a compromise they can work with!

I am also only scheduling Tree Camp only on Saturdays this warm season session. But if you cannot attend on Saturdays, and would prefer a weekday or even a Sunday, please let me know and I will try to accommodate you.

A new addition to this website is the Your Tree Questions Answered page to post your questions and my answers about trees you need help on in your own outdoors explorations. Photos are especially invited.  You are also welcome to send any news of interesting trees you have discovered with directions for others on where to find them.
